This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office. ____________________ Position Overview The Motion Control Systems division is seeking a Manager II, Engineering, North America Applications and Systems, located onsite at our global headquarters in Radford, Virginia. This role leads the North America Level 2 Applications Engineering and Systems Engineering team. The position reports functionally through Product Engineering, with a dotted-line relationship to the MCS Global Vice President of Sales because its primary activities are customer-facing. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, hands-on leader with strong structured problem-solving skills who can balance strategic improvement work with daily support for key customer accounts. Both internally and in processes that involve customers ( e.g. commissioning experiences) , the Manager driv es efficiency and productivity gains . This function leads technical support to sales and customer s, resolving queries with a goal toward customer satisfaction . Strategic ally, t h e Manager drives innovation by integrating new technologies and systems with purpose and a goal of customer success . It contributes to strategic planning by forecasting future technical needs as an input to product planning . The position ensures high standards in interoperability and in the outcomes of our product developments, maintaining the company's reputation for quality and reliability . Key Responsibilities Both pre-sale and post-sale customer engagements are with in the responsibilities of this role , however, focus is on post-sales customer support of MCS products and systems . Collaborates closely with the L1 pre-sales Applications team to ensure cross-functional alignment and interactions resulting in a more seamless and positive customer experience. Collaborate with EMEAI and Asia Applications Engineering teams to leverage shared knowledge, experience , and capabilities; adopt best practices ; and drive stan dardization across regions. Responsible for leading, tracking and maintaining data for Policy Deployment Targets to Improve and Key Performance Indicators and achieving them through a closed-loop, continuous improvement and problem-solving approach , involving: driving changes through kaizens and process improvement, developing tools, a nd building the team to support the growth of the business. Manage the North America Product Training function to ensure effective planning and delivery of external customer training, both in-house and at customer sites.
Oversee responsibilities that include:
- Coordinating, scheduling and facilitating live training sessions scheduled periodically throughout the year both on-site and off-site.
- C reating and maintaining training content including presentation materials and demo/test units used during the class.
- Designing course work and class syllabus to ensure maximum interest and impact to our customers.
Establish standard work that defines the North America support structure and interface s with other business functions . Promotes the growth and development of applications and systems teams at all levels to expand the capabilities and expertise within the group, including L1. Responsible for assisting North America Production, Quality and Engineering teams with defining quality issues and testing new products in development per customer requirements. Responsible for making determinations of need and scheduling field service visits for troubleshooting, commissioning and training purposes. Responsible for managing the budget of the Applications and Systems Engineering team. Travel up to 25% to customer sites. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Strong analytical skills Solid understanding of engineering documents (Schematics, Component Data Sheets, PCB Layout, and product specifications) and technical product literature. Ability to collaborate with other team members across the organization and functions. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, etc. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customer s, inspectors, managers, suppliers, and groups of engineers. Understanding of motion control theory and essential components . Understanding of various fieldbus protocols Experience with the use of multi-meters, oscilloscope s and data recorders for the purpose of troubleshooting product & systems issues. Experienced with
EMC /EMI
issues including wiring, shielding and grounding practices. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. 10 + years of industrial experience in Industrial Automation in a technical discipline . Minimum 3 years application engineering, systems engineering or design engineering with heavy customer interface required . Management or leadership experience required . Preferred Skills and Qualifications Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
Expected Base Salary Range:
$100,000
- 155,800 The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for this position.
Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, the geographic market of that location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education and internal peer compensation comparisons among other potential factors.
