Pay:
$30 to $40 per hour, depending on experience Client Profile Our client is seeking an experienced IT Application Security Specialist to help strengthen application security across internally developed and third party applications, development environments, and related technology resources. Key Responsibilities Define and maintain application security standards, procedures, and requirements that support secure application development and lifecycle management. Partner with development teams, DevSecOps resources, application owners, Operational Technology resources, suppliers, and security partners to identify and address application security requirements. Conduct and coordinate application security assessments, reviews, and testing for internally developed and third party applications. Integrate appropriate security controls, testing, and validation into software development, build, deployment, and release processes. Identify application vulnerabilities, security weaknesses, and process gaps throughout the Software Development Life Cycle and recommend remediation and process improvements. Prioritize, track, remediate, and validate closure of application security risks and vulnerabilities with internal and external partners. Maintain assessment records, remediation status, exceptions, and supporting evidence for governance, audit, and continuous improvement activities. Evaluate application security tools, technologies, services, third party software, and emerging practices. Contribute to incident investigation and response when applications are involved. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and professional experience. Approximately 7 years of experience in application security, cybersecurity, software development, or a related discipline. Experience with application security principles, secure software development practices, SDLC processes, application security assessments, and vulnerability testing. Experience working with development teams, DevSecOps resources, application owners, and security partners to identify and remediate security risks. Experience working within Microsoft Azure or other cloud hosted development environments. Ability to lead technical initiatives and communicate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and other stakeholders. Familiarity with application development and application security tools.
