The Automation Engineer tests, creates, implements and supports robotics process and desktop automations. Performs design, scripting, testing, implementing, maintaining and modifying automations of moderate complexity, significance, and risk. Creates comprehensive test plans and test cases; defines automation data needs across systems and creates a plan to coordinate this test data. Responsibilities Design and maintain automated test suites for Android and iOS mobile applications. Develop and execute API and backend automation using TypeScript/JavaScript or Kotlin. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines , including mobile build and distribution workflows. Write, maintain, and review test cases covering functional, regression, and edge-case scenarios. Collaborate with mobile developers via pull-request reviews and contribute to engineering standards. Evaluate and adopt AI-assisted testing tools to improve efficiency. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience Seven to nine years of relevant work experience with programming concepts, development logic or automating complex processes Preferred Skills/Experience Strong hands on experience with programming concepts, development logic or automating complex processes hands-on QA experience testing mobile applications (Android and/or iOS) experience. Working knowledge of Kotlin — enough to read existing tests and write new ones by example. Experience with mobile UI test automation on real devices and emulators/simulators. Experience with automated API testing using a code-based framework (RestAssured, supertest, pytest, or similar). Everyday use of Git in a pull-request workflow . Experience with Jira and a test management system (PractiTest, TestRail, Zephyr, Xray or similar). Comfortable with the Unix/Linux command line . Kotlin Multiplatform (KMM) or Gradle build configuration. Mobile build distribution tools (Firebase App Distribution, TestFlight or similar). Experience running tests in a CI pipeline (Jenkins or similar).
Database experience:
MongoDB or SQL. Experience using AI-assisted development tools in a QA workflow. Location expectations This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
