General Description In support of the Creative Director (CD), the Junior Designer is responsible for helping creatively communicate the mission, vision, and ministries of Lighthouse Church (LH) through thoughtful and compelling visual design. The Junior Designer will champion the visual identity of LH by taking creative direction from concept to execution across a variety of church-wide, ministry, event, and communication needs. This role will collaborate closely with the CD, Creative Producers (CPs), and LH's external design partner to develop, adapt, and execute graphics across digital, print, environmental, merchandise, and motion applications. The Junior Designer will help ensure that creative concepts are carried consistently across all necessary deliverables while maintaining a high standard of visual excellence and attention to detail. Essential Job Functions.
Design:
Support the CD in executing the creative vision and visual identity of LH across ministries, events, sermon series, and church-wide initiatives. Collaborate with the CD, CPs, and external design partner to develop and execute visually compelling creative work. Receive foundational designs and creative concepts from the CD or external design partner and extend them across the necessary applications and formats. Create, adapt, resize, and prepare graphics for digital, print, environmental, merchandise, presentation, and other ministry needs. Maintain consistency with established LH brand standards and the creative direction provided for each project. Participate in creative conversations, brainstorming, critiques, and project reviews. Receive and implement feedback with flexibility, professionalism, and attention to detail. Organize and maintain design files, assets, templates, and project materials. Manage multiple projects and deadlines while communicating progress, questions, and potential challenges to the CD. Collaborate with CPs to ensure design works cohesively alongside photography, video, motion, and various channels of communications. Assist with additional Creative Team projects and production needs as assigned.
Typical Project Scope:
The Junior Designer will help execute creative deliverables for projects including: Special Events Sermon Series Building Signage Ministry Kits Print Projects Merchandise Template Kits Motion Projects Quali fi cations. A portfolio demonstrating a strong foundation in graphic design, typography, layout, composition, and visual communication. Full alignment with Lighthouse Church's Statement of Faith and the ability to represent its beliefs, mission, and values faithfully through design. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Strong attention to detail and an ability to maintain visual consistency across multiple deliverables. Ability to take an established creative concept and thoughtfully extend it across a variety of applications. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first approach. Ability to receive creative direction and feedback while also contributing ideas and creative problem-solving. Willingness to work full-time, in office. Experience with Adobe After Effects, motion graphics, or animation is preferred but not required. Experience with copywriting is also preferred but not required.
