About XpertDox XpertDox is a healthcare AI company building XpertCoding, an autonomous medical coding automation platform. Every client engagement runs on a reliable data connection to the client's EHR, so interoperability is core to the product and to how fast we can onboard and scale clients. XpertCoding integrates across the major outpatient ambulatory EHRs through four pathways: RPA, direct
REST API, HL7
v2.x messaging, and SMART on FHIR. We support Epic, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Centricity/AthenaPM, Practice Fusion, and Experity in production today, with additional pathways built and ready. Position Summary We are hiring a Director of EHR Integrations to lead the Automation Python team and own the engineering that keeps XpertCoding running end to end. This is a hands-on engineering leadership role spanning three areas: the EHR integrations that feed the platform, the Python automation and scripting that runs the coding pipeline, and the production fleet the pipeline runs on. You will manage a US and India based team, set engineering and reliability standards, and keep integrations and automation dependable as the client base scales. The role partners closely with the VP of EHR Integrations on strategy and client scoping while owning day-to-day technical delivery.
Key Responsibilities Team leadership:
Lead, manage, and mentor the US and India based Automation Python team, setting coding standards, review practices, on-call coverage, and delivery expectations EHR integration engineering: Own delivery and maintenance of EHR integrations across all four pathways (RPA, REST
API, HL7
v2.x, SMART on FHIR), including the RPA bot fleet, proactive vendor change-note review, and the sub-6-hour MTTR ceiling on RPA breakage Automation and scripting: Own the Python automation and scripting that runs the XpertCoding pipeline end to end (download, codes, scrubber, upload, QC, and submit stages), including worker orchestration, the async batch system, and internal tooling Fleet management: Own the production fleet in the Scottsdale datacenter: NUC provisioning, Python and SAS worker-slot allocation, capacity headroom (maintaining the standing buffer ahead of onboarding), rack build and labeling, and VM cloning for disaster recovery and burst capacity Reliability and monitoring: Keep the pipeline and integrations reliable through layered detection (real-time script alerts, QC-layer checks, and the operational dashboard), structured logging to MongoDB and S3, and clear escalation paths
Deployment and CI/CD:
Own the deployment path through Bitbucket and Bitbucket Pipelines, including the batch-canary pattern, rollback procedures, and branch and pull-request discipline on the production and development branches Onboarding delivery: Deliver the client EHR connection step within the onboarding window and lead per-client script customization during implementation Cross-functional partnership: Partner with the VP of EHR Integrations, Client Success, Informatics, and Analytics on onboarding, technical scoping, and roadmap, and provide integration feasibility input on the pipeline Compliance and security: Enforce HIPAA and data-security requirements across integrations and automation, including credential handling in AWS Secrets Manager, endpoint controls, and secure remote access for the offshore team Required Qualifications 5+ years in software, automation, or integration engineering, including team leadership or lead-engineer experience Strong Python skills across automation, scripting, orchestration, and batch processing Hands-on EHR integration experience with HL7 v2.x, FHIR and SMART on
FHIR, REST
APIs, and RPA Experience owning production systems and on-premise or fleet infrastructure, including provisioning, capacity planning, monitoring, and uptime Experience leading distributed and offshore engineering teams Strong CI/CD and version-control practice (Git or Bitbucket), including deployment and rollback Working knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare data-security requirements Preferred Qualifications Experience managing a production Linux fleet, NUC-based, or bare-metal environment RPA tooling experience and an understanding of its operational trade-offs Experience with interface engines (Mirth, Rhapsody, or Cloverleaf) and MLLP or SFTP delivery Familiarity with AWS (EC2, S3, Secrets Manager), MongoDB, and SQL Experience with VM cloning, disaster recovery, and capacity planning Scripting beyond Python (Bash, PowerShell) Background in medical coding, revenue cycle, or claims What Success Looks Like The XpertCoding pipeline and EHR integrations run reliably, with consistent uptime and MTTR within target Fleet capacity stays ahead of client onboarding, with smooth burst and disaster-recovery deployment Fast, clean client EHR connections delivered within the onboarding window A well-run, scaled US and India automation team with strong engineering discipline Reduced integration and automation fragility as the client base and claim volume grow
