We are looking to hire an experienced technician to join our growing team, in order to augment the part of our company that specializes in contract IT work. We expect our team members to be more than just techs, and not the stereotypical MSP team member that can't see past the ticket.DAILY TASKS
- Check incoming e-mails and respond in a timely manner
- Follow-up with existing communication threads until a resolution is reached
- Manage calendar
- May answer calls and follow-up with clients
- Perform triage with clients during initial communication
- Accept escalations from Level 1 and work with SMEs through resolution
- Manage assigned tickets and check Level 2 queue
- Take ownership of special projects and keep in contact with management about progress

GENERAL TASKS
- Go on-site to address client needs as necessary
- Assist with internal inventory management, equipment shipping/receiving
- May assist with general office maintenance, like light cleaning, preparing conference room for meetings
- Keep certain areas of the server-based filesystem organized and up-to-date
- Reach out to leads/prospects
- Maintenance of various server-based networks and their associated workstations
- Maintenance of network equipment (switches, routers, wireless APs)
REQUIREMENTS
- Must understand a high level of IT terms/concepts/acronyms
- More than three years of experience managing an Active Directory environment
- More than three years of experience administering a server-based network
- Experience with both VMWare and HyperV, to include complete deployment, VM creation, and ongoing management
- Experience with critical networking concepts like DNS, DHCP, and subnetting
- Experience with various routers (Sonicwall, Cisco, TP-Link, Netgear, Custom)
- Experience with VPNs, RDP, and remote access tools
- Experience with hardware upgrades to both servers and workstations
- Experience with a ticketing system
- Must be able to communicate effectively in written form, including the use of proper grammar and spelling (no, AI cannot save you on this one)
- Ability to search for an answer (Google, Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) AND know when the results are incorrect or deeper research is needed
- Functional understanding of backup methodologies
- Functional understanding of storage methodologies
- Customer Service skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- You will need to take initiative
- You will need to be an independent and critical thinker
- You will need to be comfortable pivoting in the middle of a task/project
- You must be able to work with partial information and then gather the rest in order to achieve the desired result
- Many procedures will be outlined in an SOP format, but you must be able to help create and maintain these procedures
SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY
(NOTFAMILIARITY
)- Windows Server 2016-2025
- Windows 7-11
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, OneNote)
SOFTWARE FAMILIARITY
- Adobe Product Line
- Password managers (KeePass, Keeper, etc.)
- E-mail security providers
- Customer records/interactions in a CRM like Autotask, Salesforce, etc.
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience with laptop repairs and upgrades
- Experiencing making CAT5/6 ends and wiring
- Experience with POE cameras and APs
- Familiarity with Apple products
- Familiarity with Linux
- Familiarity with VOIP concepts and maintenance
- Understanding of business terms/concepts
