A Network Engineer or Architect designs and builds computer network systems, including software and hardware. Runs program and system tests, solves technical problems and maintains the network system. Designs and analyzes computer network models.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise LAN and WAN systems involving Cisco, Palo Alto, Meraki, and Brocade/Foundry equipment. Design and implement network solutions that meet defined technical and business requirements. Manage Cisco VPN services and provide Tier 3 client support. Manage intrusion prevention and detection systems (IPS/IDS) and web filtering, centered on Palo Alto next-generation firewalls. Manage firewalls, demilitarized zone (DMZ) environments, and protections for client internet access. Ensure management and monitoring systems accurately reflect the configuration and operational state of the network environment. Proactively analyze network infrastructure and related technologies to identify opportunities for improvement or reconfiguration. Develop and maintain technical documentation and effective network diagrams for operational support. Provide technical guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel. Diagnose and resolve network issues, including escalation to vendor support when appropriate. Collaborate with third-party providers, including internet service providers, WAN providers, and hardware and software vendors. Plan, operate, and troubleshoot dynamic routing across Iyuno's global environment. Support and work with IP telephony systems. Integrate with provider-operated BGP, OSPF, and MPLS networks. Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously within a large-company environment. Follow established change-management processes and notification procedures. Work flexible hours and provide emergency coverage as needed in a mission-critical, 24/7/365 environment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. CCNA certification or equivalent demonstrated capability required, with the aptitude to pursue higher-level qualifications. At least four years of experience administering and designing networks using Cisco or Brocade/Foundry devices. At least four years of experience with firewalls, switches, VPNs, and LAN/WAN environments. Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama. Experience identifying, interpreting, and evaluating system and network requirements. Linux experience is advantageous. Experience with SolarWinds and Cacti is advantageous. Python and scripting experience is beneficial.
