What to Expect We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Wireless Network Engineer to lead the design, architecture, deployment, and optimization of enterprise wireless networks. This role servers as a technical leader responsible for building scalable, secure, and high-performance Wi-Fi environments across factories, warehouses, and offices. The candidate should combine deep wireless expertise with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate across infrastructure, security, and engineering teams. What You'll Do
Collaborate closely with Network Architects on wireless design and initiatives, including wireless capacity planning, predictive modeling, and RF engineering
Partner with IT Security to implement and maintain wireless security policies and compliance standards
Maintain and optimize wireless infrastructure across manufacturing, warehouse, and workplace environments
Serve as a Tier-2/3 escalation point, leading root cause analysis for major network outages and incidents
Lead and coordinate the implementation of new wireless services and technology rollouts
Collaborate with Vehicle and Bot Connectivity Engineering teams on cross-functional wireless integration
Evaluate emerging wireless technologies (e.g., Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 7) for scalability, performance, and strategic fit
Ensure ongoing compliance with wireless regulations, industry standards, and legal requirements
Design, monitor, analyze, and report on key wireless performance metrics and operational health
Analyze packet captures, RF interference, roaming behavior, and client device performance to optimize network quality What You'll Bring
Extensive experience with wireless solutions based on
IEEE 802.11
standards, including encryption, WIDS, rogue detection, 802.1X, RADIUS, EAP-TLS, wireless client chipset and driver behavior, and RF engineering for wireless planning Proven experience deploying and supporting Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E in high-density environments Experience supporting IoT devices and wireless analytics platforms in enterprise and industrial settings Proficient with wireless diagnostic tools, including spectrum analyzers, protocol analyzers, and site survey tools (e.g., Ekahau, Hamina) Familiarity with automation tools such as Python, Ansible, and vendor APIs for infrastructure scripting and integration Strong organizational skills and a collaborative team player with a proven ability to work across technical and operational teams Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving complex, high-level technical issues Maintains a high standard of professionalism, integrity, and accountability in all interactions Must be onsite at the facility full-time and be available to work occasional weekends, after-hours, and holidays as needed Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $168,000 - $360,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
