Early Career - Attributes Method Engineer Rivian - 2.7 Irvine, CA Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Python Full Job Description We are seeking a driven Attributes Methods Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain scalable engineering processes, data systems, and tooling. In this role, you will be a key technical contributor within the Architecture, Safety & Attributes (ASA) team, working independently to bridge the gap between engineering needs and software/data solutions. You will go beyond identifying inefficiencies to actively building data management pipelines, automating simulation (CAE/CFD) workflows, and deploying tools that improve the quality and speed of vehicle development. Your ability to collaborate across teams and deliver robust, user-friendly solutions will be critical to our success
No Visa Sponsorship Continuous Improvement:
Identify gaps and inefficiencies in current processes and propose creative and practical solutions.
Workflow Automation:
Mainly Python based scripting to automate repetitive tasks.
Tooling Development:
Build and maintain in-house desktop and web applications, automation scripts, and databases to support engineering workflows at scale.
Process Integration:
Collaborate with attribute teams, IT, and PLM departments to seamlessly integrate departmental workflows into broader company platforms
Optimization and AI:
Understand the latest tools and methods available and apply where appropriate to gain process efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with other teams and individuals, including vehicle attribute and design engineers, to support shared goals and projects.
Communication:
Clearly communicate your ideas, findings, and progress to the team and adapt your approach where necessary to achieve the best outcome.
Documentation:
Produce clear and structured guides for any tools or processes developed.
Problem Solving:
Act as a technical resource for process and methods; troubleshoot complex workflow bottlenecks and implement sustainable, automated fixes.
Advanced Analysis Support:
Support the integration of High-Performance Computing (HPC) optimizations and advanced analytics to accelerate CAE and engineering analysis An undergraduate degree in software engineering, computer / data science or engineering, coupled with a proven track record (ideally 2-4 years experience). Fundamental understanding and knowledge of mechanical, automotive, or aerospace principles. Proficiency in coding with Python. Proficiency in AI, including agent creation, coding / software development, process automation Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly. An adaptable mindset with a proven ability to compromise when necessary. An appreciation for the power of intuition in developing robust processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
An understanding of an engineering development process A keen interest in AI in general Experience in Graphical User Interface (GUI) development. Familiarity with the principles of virtual vs. physical testing. Version control (Git) Knowledge of web development technologies
