The Network Engineer will:
Support the design, development, and analysis of Ground Station requirements. Integrate Network Hardware in support of Ground Based Systems architecture and support communications infrastructure. Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions. Research, develop, and test a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including communications equipment and systems, and control and test equipment. Evaluate and resolve engineering related production problems related to manufacturing, design, and quality. Analyze engineering specifications and drawings; confers with quality, and subcontractors to provide and obtain technical information; investigates reports of defective, damaged or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment or systems; and reviews production schedules and orders. Evaluate findings to formulate corrective actions. Responsible for research and/or product development in more than one engineering discipline. Support and participate in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electromechanical systems. Assess product needs in accordance with customer specifications. May conduct technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors, and company representatives. Implement and refine designs for business technology initiatives. Enforce policies for standardizing and adherence to systems, security and Industry practices. Follow CM processes to iterate on network design and implementation documents.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience; PhD with 4 years of relevant experience. Basic understanding and demonstrated skills with Network Architectures U.S. citizenship is required for this role Active DoD Secret-level Security Clearance or the ability to obtain SEC+ certification or higher CCNA certification Ability to work alone or in small teams to complete projects Ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical persons Experience with industry wiring (copper and fiber) standards Experience with routing and switching network equipment and protocols Experience with security concepts and firewall management Experience with DoD encryption implementation and standards Experience with HW, RF, and Cisco systems, test equipment, technical troubleshooting, and problem solving. Experience with engineering drawings and technical manuals, and the use thereof for operating, maintenance and troubleshooting equipment.

Primary Level Salary Range:
$129,300.00
  • $193,900.
00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
