Job Description
We are looking for a Network Engineer to help strengthen and scale a high-performance network environment supporting point-of-presence infrastructure, Layer 3 routing, and Layer 2 transport services in Brunswick, Georgia. This role focuses on hands-on engineering, operational reliability, and continuous improvement across routing, switching, and network resilience initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, sound troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support both day-to-day operations and long-term network growth.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, deploy, and maintain routing and switching platforms across data center and distribution network environments using Juniper, Nokia, or comparable technologies.
- Support delivery of Layer 2 transport services to residential communities while maintaining stable and resilient Layer 3 routing at POP locations.
- Contribute to network design and operational planning, including peering strategy, traffic optimization, and high-availability improvements.
- Partner with architecture and technical leadership to expand BGP functionality and guide IPv4 and IPv6 implementation efforts.
- Establish and maintain monitoring, alerting, technical documentation, and maintenance procedures to improve operational readiness.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance activities and an on-call rotation, responding to service disruptions and helping drive corrective actions after incidents.
- Troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues across complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 environments to minimize downtime.
- Support failover, redundancy, and resiliency initiatives that improve service continuity across the network footprint.
