This role handles complex incidents and escalations, leads infrastructure projects, migrations, and collaborates with Solution Managers, Customer Success Managers, vendors, and clients to deliver secure, stable, and scalable outcomes. Supervisory Responsibilities None Key Duties & Responsibilities Implement and support LAN, WAN, wireless, and firewall solutions for SMB client environments (5- 250 users) Own advanced troubleshooting of complex network issues, including routing, switching, firewall rules, VPN connectivity, and performance degradation Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative solutions to improve long-term network stability Lead network refresh, migration, and standardization projects Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs (site-to-site and client-based), and secure remote access solutions Support network security best practices Align networking configurations with security and compliance requirements Act as an escalation resource for high-priority incidents and service requests Support 24x7 on-call rotation for managed services clients as a senior escalation resource Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and carriers to resolve outages and chronic performance issues Collaborate with Pod Leadership on client network strategy and improvement plans Support networking components within Azure, Microsoft 365 environments, etc. Administer and support Windows Server services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy), including user/group lifecycle management and policy troubleshooting Manage hybrid identity components, including Microsoft Entra ID administration and Azure AD Connect configuration, synchronization health, and troubleshooting Support server infrastructure in virtualized environments (VMware/Hyper-V), including VM provisioning, patching coordination, performance troubleshooting, and disaster recovery/backup validation Plan and execute patching and maintenance windows for servers and infrastructure, and manage backup/restore operations including monitoring, verification, and periodic recovery testing Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and configuration standards Provide knowledge transfer and guidance to junior technicians Required Skills & Abilities Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex server and network issues in MSP environments Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with technical and service teams Technical Requirements Advanced knowledge of LAN/WAN design, switching, routing, and wireless networking Hands-on experience with firewalls, routers, switches, and access points Strong experience with VPN technologies (site-to-site, client VPNs) Demonstrated experience with Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, or comparable enterprise networking platforms Working knowledge of Windows Server (2016, 2019 or newer), including: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) Experience supporting cloud and hybrid environments (Azure, Microsoft 365) Experience using RMM and monitoring platforms Familiarity with PSA/ticketing systems Required Experience 3-5 years of progressive experience in network or infrastructure engineering roles Demonstrated experience owning and troubleshooting production client networks Experience leading or contributing to client-facing projects Preferred Certifications & Experience Cisco
CCNA / CCNP
(or equivalent) Fortinet NSE, Meraki certifications VMware or Microsoft infrastructure certifications Azure networking experience (AZ-700 or equivalent) Experience working in an MSP environment Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed Ability to travel to client sites for deployments and troubleshooting
