In this role you contribute to that cause in supporting our almost 600 employees by providing essential services through our extensive technical and professional expertise. The Idaho State Police is seeking to fill a full-time Technical Records Specialist 2 position in our Meridian office to support the Idaho Public Safety and Security Information System (commonly known as ILETS). ILETS is a secure statewide network facilitating critical communication among local, state, federal, and Tribal law enforcement agencies. This position is required to work up to 12 hour shift work. Shift work means working weekends, holidays, and nights on a rotating basis within the ILETS Control Center (ICC) which is a 24-hour operations center.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a background investigation and polygraph examination, which includes drug screening. Please review the ISP Professional Standards prior to applying for this position.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position requires working up to 12-hour shift work for a 24-hour operations center and is responsible for providing support functions for the ILETS statewide communications network including using Windows 10 on a daily basis. Responsible for the ILETS Control Center help-desk operations and coordination with other agency units, including, but not limited to, the Idaho State Police and a variety of State, County, City and Federal agencies. Conducts customer service functions in person, by telephone, by email, or by mail; responds to routine questions and complaints; research problems and initiates problem resolution; refers complex complaints/problems to appropriate personnel. Operates or uses various equipment and supplies to complete work assignments; operate a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, internet, email, or other systems and software; and operates general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions. Monitor geographically separated assets for uninterrupted availability and escalate issues through the chain of command. Provides end-user support and troubleshooting of ILETS systems' software. Solves operating problems within well-defined procedures and using standardized tools. Display good customer service and communication skills; logs customer and system issues. Some knowledge of Networking. Processes a variety of documentation associated with department operations within designated timeframes and adherence to established procedures. Enters, modifies, and validates data according to national and state requirements. Evaluates situations and makes decisions for assistance based on standard operating procedures. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
Monitoring record systems to identify and correct errors Interpreting, explaining, and applying laws, regulations, and complex policies for multiple or highly specialized programs Analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve problems or issues Dealing with individuals from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds in stressful situations Entering and retrieving data using a computerized record system Composing and proofreading business correspondence
Desired Qualifications :
Experience documenting operational problems. Experience reading and understanding technical material. Ability to research material and find answers for yourself and others.
