Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Network Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of network infrastructure and administration, with hands-on experience in managing and securing various network environments. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our network systems while supporting the overall IT infrastructure. SUMMARY Plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize IT systems, user hardware, software, and communication systems to ensure reliable computer operations and enable end users to complete business tasks. Receive, prioritize, document, and resolve end-user help requests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Use diagnostic and help request tracking tools to provide in-person and remote desktop-level support. Build rapport with help desk customers, gather problem details, prioritize and schedule issues, and escalate problems to the appropriate technician when needed. Manage help desk software, including updates, configuration, request assignment, work order management, and reporting analysis. Set up, deploy, and manage user desktops, laptops, and printers. Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory including Group Policy Objects. Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights. Administer Office 365 including Exchange Online, Azure device management and SharePoint. Manage virtual servers, including file, print, and other servers and their associated operating systems and software. Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information. Provide training to members for various computer topics such as help desk software, company intranet, and best practices. Create and manage user-facing systems, including help desk software, the company intranet, and collaboration and communication tools. Perform first level support for IBM. Be involved and help with IT projects. Manage IT vendors, requisitions including help assess new potential vendors. Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive experience with current Windows desktop systems with a variety of configurations Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, software, protocols, and standards (Like Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet) Experience with administrative Windows server environment Experience with virtualization (VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V) Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting printing issues Extensive experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Entra ID Experience with Unified Endpoint Management (UEM), Patch Management, Software deployment. (Ivanti platform preferred) Basic knowledge with PowerShell, Automation and BOTs Experience with network & wireless configuration, equipment, and troubleshooting (Like Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet) Experience working with IBM midrange systems Exceptional written and oral communication skills Experience managing a help desk and using help desk software Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills Highly self-motivated and directed Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate degree in computer-related field or equivalent experience 3+ years help desk experience and end-user support 2+ years server administration 2+ years network & wireless administration 2+ years Microsoft cloud administration (365, Exchange online, Entra ID)
