DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Manage a network of Ethernet/fabric switches located across Bossier City. This includes troubleshooting any network related issues that arise, as well as making routine adjustments to the network as needed. We utilize wireless technology, fiber and SD-WAN to connect remote locations. Manage firewalls at multiple locations. Manage DNS for both our private and public networks. Manage IP addresses for our networks. This includes creating/managing VLANs, scopes for our DHCP servers, and assigning static IP addresses as needed. Manage our print server. Meet and work with vendors and city employees to discuss current and future network and server infrastructure needs. T Assist with desktop support as needed. This includes software, printer and network issues. Assist in managing an Active Directory database. Routine tasks include creation, modification, and deletion of accounts, and resetting of passwords. Assist in managing servers (physical and virtual) used by virtually all city employees. Also, performs related administrative and technical duties as assigned by the IS Manager.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology with 7 years as a System Administrator. Must have expertise in more than one area of system administration. A+ or similar technology certification required.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
Solid proven experience in multiple areas of Systems Administration which includes: servers, operating systems, networks, storage, backups, security and applications support. Skill set will include VMware, Microsoft Windows technology, current networking, storage, backup and replication technology and security. Database experience is a plus. Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex computer problems individually and collectively. A desire to work in the technology industry with demonstrated skill set advancement. Proven ability to assist management with daily operations, assisting system administrators and systems specialist and setting future technology strategy. Good oral and written communication skills.
