Roles & Responsibilities:
L616 Enterprise and Tactical Networking department is seeking talented Associate Network Engineers to make impactful contributions to mission-driven projects alongside experienced engineers and researchers.
Typical activities may include:
Develop prototypes of intelligent network capabilities in MITRE advanced labs Work on collaborative research teams to develop innovative solutions using commercial and MITRE developed technologies Conduct performance assessments of current and emerging technologies Execute data science research beginning at data wrangling and cleaning all the way through to reporting and visualization Scale solutions to work across large enterprises and large data sets Analyze data from network sensor systems and integrate additional data sources for improved outcomes Communicate technical approach and findings to internal and external stakeholders
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science related discipline Interest in complex multi-disciplinary problems Willingness and ability to learn new tools/concepts The candidate will engage in hands-on, mission-driven work. Responsibilities span the full solution lifecycle - from design and prototyping through testing, implementation, and monitoring - across various networking use cases and solutions Typically requires a minimum of 1 year of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S Government issued Security Clearance. Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance. This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exposure to network programmability concepts such as software define networking (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and programmable data planes Exposure to virtualization, automation and DevOps architectures such as Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Chef and Puppet Ability to apply, modify and formulate algorithms and processes to solve challenging problems Knowledge of various machine learning paradigms (deep learning, reinforcement learning, neural networks, etc.) with an understanding of mathematical underpinnings of various models Hands-on software development skills in a modern programming language (e.g. Python, R, Scala, Java) Working knowledge of data science workflow from data acquisition to reporting findings Strong understanding of streaming and batch data workflows, including message queues, processing directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) and data stores.
