Systems Development Engineer, ADC AIML
Job Description
Description Are you a systems engineer who thrives on solving complex problems at scale? Do you want to define engineering best practices and operational excellence standards that enable multiple teams to build more resilient, automated, and efficient systems? In this role, you will design and deliver solutions that combine hardware, software, systems architecture, and process improvements to reduce complexity and eliminate repetitive manual work. You will work autonomously on strategic projects while mentoring others, leading design reviews, and driving sustainable operations across your organization at Amazon. This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work. Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement technology solutions and architectures that solve complex business or technical problems, decomposing difficult challenges into straightforward tasks that can be delivered incrementally by you and your team.
- Lead projects that improve engineering and operations processes across multiple teams, setting standards for operational excellence including automation, resiliency, and sustainable system design.
- Identify points of failure for managed systems, develop metrics to monitor performance and service levels, and proactively resolve risks and architectural deficiencies before they impact customers.
- Partner with team leaders to develop technical strategy, influence prioritization decisions, and conduct reviews of architecture, design, operations, and post-incident analysis for your team and related teams.
- Write well-organized, maintainable code and build accessible systems that lower costs and reduce complexity, while coaching and mentoring engineers throughout your organization to raise the overall engineering bar.
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph Preferred Qualifications
