Job Description

You belong to the top echelon of talent in your field. At one of the world's most iconic financial institutions, where infrastructure is of paramount importance, you can play a pivotal role. As a MDS Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope. Job responsibilities Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems Applies technical knowledge to assignments of moderate scope, including testing infrastructure performance and validating requirements across multiple systems Drives results, collects and analyzes monitoring data in test and production, and sees assignments through to completion Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications Be accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience Strong knowledge and experience with Python Scripting and automation Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, multicast, and latency concepts Experience supporting technical systems or applications in a production environment Understanding of data workflows, data pipelines, or data distribution systems Ability to troubleshoot technical issues using diagnostic tools and methodologies Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments Hands-on experience operating and supporting production systems across multiple cloud technologies with the ability to work and migrate across public and private clouds Drives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledge Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Knowledge of market data symbology, identifiers, reference data, and conventions such as futures rolls and corporate actions Experience with market data distribution platforms (e.g., IDP, AMPS, AAAS, RMDS/TREP, Bloomberg BPIPE/MFA, Refinitiv Data Feeds, Solace) and direct exchange connectivity/feeds, including DACS entitlements Exposure to trading or front-office support environments Knowledge of monitoring and forensic tools such as ITRS Geneos Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments Experience with multiple cloud technologies, including the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds A drive to continuously develop infrastructure engineering knowledge, data fluency, and automation skills
