Job Description:
  • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
  • Must be onsite full-time and available on-call after hours.
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
  • Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Work with security team to evaluate threats, troubleshoot issues, and comply with appropriate security configuration standards of the organizations.
  • Design and deploy changes to the configurations of clients as per the applicable change management process.
  • Proactively handle all network security solutions.
  • Firmware upgrades on routers, switches, WLC's and firewalls.
  • Make use of testing and diagnostic tools to assess and modify equipment.
  • Make use of enterprise monitoring tools (SolarWinds and Splunk).
  • Opens vendor Support cases, including Cisco, Palo Alto and other third-party vendors.
  • Investigates network performance issues, performing captures using Wireshark and uploading data accordingly.
  • Performs hardware decommission and disposal following company policy and guidelines.
  • Updates vision diagram for multiple sites based on CMDB report.
  • Supports offshore team upgrades and troubleshooting sessions as required. Requirements and skills
  • Proven hands-on network engineer experience.
  • CCNP or higher (Wireless and SDWAN knowledge added advantage)
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11)
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • University degree in Computer Science or a related subject
  • Comprehensive understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP, BGP and EIGRP
  • In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as LAN, firewalls, routers and WLC's.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues, and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.
  • Ability to design, implement and troubleshoot Wi-Fi and security infrastructure.
  • Time management
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology.
