Job Description

The Office of the Queens County District Attorney (QDA) is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to manage, implement and support QDA's network infrastructure. The Senior Network Engineer will be part of QDA's Information Technology Bureau which serves an office of over 1,000 staff. The Senior Network Engineer's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Design, deploy and support the growing enterprise environment. Lead projects involving LAN, WAN, Datacenter, Spine/Leaf technology, Wireless, Cloud, etc. for our Cisco-based infrastructure which also incorporates Palo Alto, Arista, Fortinet, etc. Work with other network architects to vet designs prior to implementation. Create technical documentation including writing and drawing network diagrams. Work with vendors, carriers, and other technical groups to implement new designs and optimize the network. Transfer knowledge of network design to the rest of the team. Adhere to security policies from a network perspective. Troubleshoot Level 2 and 3 network support issues. Analyze the network and implement solutions to increase uptime efficiency and security.
Preferred Education and Qualification Requirements:
Qualified candidates must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, engineering or a related field and four years of full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or, the equivalent education and/or experience. Must have excellent communication skills and experience in handling confidential information. Strong preference will be given to candidates with the following: Advanced industry networking and security certifications 5 plus years of experience as a Network Architect 5 years Network Engineering experience Cisco CCNP Certification Strong understanding of network protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, etc.) Understanding of campus and data center switching using Cisco and Arista Ability to implement VxRail into a network environment Knowledge of deploying and maintaining Next Generation Firewalls Proficiency in deploying and supporting Cisco DNA Understanding of software defined networking technologies for data centers such as Cisco ACI or Arista CloudVision Strong background in F5 load balancing Ability to migrate services between data centers Familiarity with Infoblox to maintain public facing DNS services as well as IPAM Competence in design and maintenance of wireless environments including controllers and Aps Knowledge of IPS/IDS design as standalone hardware or as a feature within firewalls Strong knowledge of network management tools to facilitate troubleshooting, i.e., Wireshark, NetBrain, ExtraHop, etc. Ability to implement, manage and administer

Salary range: $130,000-$155,000. Salary commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401K and more.
