The Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS) takes great pride in its work to support the priorities of the DeWine-Tressel administration to ease access for those doing business with the state, secure state data and technology resources, and create efficiencies for our state government partners while keeping costs in check. DAS is the engine of state government, providing innovative solutions and supporting the efficient operation of state agencies, boards, and commissions. DAS program areas serve our Ohio government customers, who in turn directly serve the interests of Ohioans. We help procure goods and services, deliver information technology and mail, recruit and train personnel, promote equal access to the state workforce, lease and manage office space, process payroll, print publications, and perform a variety of other services. The Office of Information Technology (OIT) delivers enterprise information technology and telecommunication services as well as IT policy and standards, lifecycle investment planning, and privacy and security management. The Infrastructure Services Division (ISD) operates the IT infrastructure for the state, which includes hardware, software and telecommunications. The division also develops and manages a variety of enterprise IT services. ISD consists of the following program areas: Application Infrastructure & Operations Solutions; Customer Service Center; Data Center Co-Location; Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity; Enterprise Cloud Smart Solutions; Enterprise Mainframe Computing and Database Services; Enterprise Servers; Enterprise Storage; and Unified Network Services. Job Duties What you'll do: Desktop Installs, maintains, configures, upgrades and/or administers hardware and or software independently in Virtual Desktop and workstation support, network administration, server administration, business continuity, and information security, telecommunication and network connectivity, and / or SAN administration (ie. Multiple technology domains) where technical work requires specific knowledge to evaluate, select, adapt, & modify standard procedures: Devises new approaches to problems encountered Diagnoses, analyzes and resolves issues for customers across assigned multiple technology domains Creates, organizes, files and maintain documentation Provides Tier II-III level customer support Conducts performance tuning for hardware and/or software Develops and maintains ad-hoc utilities or reports to automate processes Supports users and devices remotely using enterprise approved tools and problem-solving skills IT Hardware Inventory Maintains IT hardware inventory for agency, requires thorough knowledge of inventory control, agency policies & procedures & state regulations on inventory control, salvage, and surplus disposal in order to maintain extensive agency-wide/statewide inventory such as IT hardware equipment for all devices and implement & enforce policies & procedures on inventory control. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

36 mos. combined work experience in multiple areas of assigned responsibility (e.g., infrastructure, database administration, software development, business process analysis) including 12 mos. combined work experience as specified by the agency position description & job posting. -Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 12 combined work experience in multiple areas of assigned responsibility (e.g., infrastructure, database administration, software development, business process analysis) as specified by the agency position description & job posting. -Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Must provide own transportation or in order to operate a state vehicle, you must have a valid driver's license. Selection devices such as a structured interview, proficiency instrument, and/or assessment may be required for this position. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency with a passing score of applicable selection device to be considered for this position. Regardless of a passing or failing score, all results will be maintained for 6 months. Applicant with a passing score will be retained and utilized for a 6-month period. Applicant with a failing score in the same position may not re-take the same selection device for a 6-month period. The Ohio Department of Administrative Services does not provide employment-based visa sponsorship.

Location Requirements:

DAS's core hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across DAS divisions. Employees may begin as early as 7 a.m. and as late as 9 a.m., based on supervisory approval. This position performs work on-site daily at DAS's office space.

Pay Information:

Unless required by legislation or union contract, the starting salary is step 1 of the salary range associated with this position. New hires advance to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Based on collective bargaining and legislative activity, there may be cost of living increases awarded annually. Additional longevity supplements begin after 5 years.
