Job Title:
Automation Controls Engineer Job Description We are seeking an Automation Controls Engineer who will be responsible for fulfilling project assignments, either individually or as part of a project team. This role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously and contributing to the development of engineering details and technical documentation. Responsibilities Provide engineering details and collaborate with internal drafting resources to develop drawings. Develop technical documentation and specifications. Write PLC and HMI application software. Configure AC/DC drive equipment. Develop system test plan documents, simulation code, and perform system testing. Coordinate with project management, technical leads, and end customers to commission systems. Program, troubleshoot, and commission systems for the first 80% of a project. Work with project managers and design engineers during the project life cycle. Complete Factory Acceptance Tests with customers, demonstrating machinery operation. Assist with commissioning equipment and start-up at customer sites. Essential Skills Heavy Industrial Automation Experience Proficiency in programming PLCs (Siemens) and AC/DC motor control Experience in electrical and automation systems Strong technical writing skills for clear communication Engineering degree or equivalent experience in industrial automation Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in metals processing is strongly preferred. Aptitude in configuring PLCs (Siemens, and GE), drives (Siemens, ABB), and HMI packages. Willingness to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, and Visio. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Approximately 25% travel required. Work Environment This role involves approximately 25% travel, with all expenses fully covered. When not traveling, the position is based in a brand-new facility that includes amenities such as a gym, locker room, and fully functional kitchen. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $57.69/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
