Job Description

MTSI is seeking a highly skilled Senior Workflow Engineer to provide expert‑level technical leadership within our customer's Digital Infrastructure Branch, supporting classified programs and mission‑critical development activities. In this role, you will design, optimize, and manage secure, reliable, and efficient workflows that enable seamless software development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment across multiple high‑visibility programs. The successful candidate will serve as the authoritative lead for workflow engineering, ensuring that development, integration, and operational processes are well‑structured, automated where possible, compliant with security and classification requirements, and fully aligned with the branch's mission. Responsibilities include architecting and maintaining workflow pipelines, defining process standards, coordinating cross‑team workflow dependencies, implementing automation tools, and providing direct engineering support to the program office across all aspects of workflow orchestration and digital‑environment operations. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategy, design, and optimization of mission workflows across classified software development, integration, test, and deployment environments.
  • Develop and maintain automated and semi‑automated workflow pipelines to support mission software development, CI/DI processes, digital‑engineering activities, and operational support tasks.
  • Define and enforce workflow governance standards including process models, naming conventions, task sequences, checkpoints, and approval flows.
  • Manage workflow execution and data flow across development, integration, testing, and sustainment activities to ensure traceability, process reliability, and compliance with classified‑environment requirements.
  • Collaborate with system owners, developers, enclave administrators, cybersecurity personnel, and mission teams to ensure workflows meet DoD, component‑level, and program‑specific security and classification requirements.
  • Oversee the control, documentation, and lifecycle management of workflow procedures, automation configurations, digital‑engineering interaction points, and mission‑system processes.
  • Validate workflow integrity, permissions, dependencies, and automation reliability; proactively identify issues and implement corrective actions to maintain workflow performance.
  • Support onboarding and training for development and engineering teams on workflow tools, pipelines, orchestration platforms, and secure‑environment best practices.
  • Prepare and deliver workflow assessments, optimization plans, automation recommendations, and process‑improvement strategies to program leadership.
  • Stay current on emerging workflow‑automation platforms, digital‑infrastructure practices, and secure development‑environment technologies to continuously enhance branch capabilities. Position Requirements
  • Deep technical understanding of workflow automation, CI/DI pipelines, digital‑engineering processes, and software‑development lifecycle operations.
  • Experience supporting secure or classified development environments.
  • Ability to work independently on complex technical processes and translate mission requirements into streamlined, compliant workflow solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to support multidisciplinary teams across a digital‑infrastructure workcenter.
The successful candidate will serve as the authoritative lead for workflow engineering, ensuring the design, optimization, and secure execution of development, integration, and delivery processes within classified environments. Responsibilities include engineering and maintaining structured workflows, establishing process controls and automation, enforcing compliance with applicable security and classification requirements, and providing direct support to the program office across all workflow orchestration, process optimization, and digital‑environment operations.
Qualifications:
  • Possess minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working in a DoW program or product acquisition office or environment
  • Have no less than three (3) years' experience in a Special Access Program (SAP) and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) environment within the last five (5) years
