We're growing, and we need an experienced engineer who can own projects and client environments from the firewall to the file server. Bring a sense of humor too. You'll work alongside senior administrators with 35+ years of combined IT experience and a sales team that has been selling IT for over 20 years. No two days look the same: one day it's a switch migration, the next it's untangling a broken GPO or an M365 mail flow issue. This is not an entry-level role. You should be comfortable walking into an unfamiliar client network, figuring out how it's built, and fixing it without someone looking over your shoulder. What you'll do Design, deploy and support client networks: routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls and wireless Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy across multiple client environments Manage Hyper-V hosts, Windows Server and file services Support Microsoft 365 and hybrid identity with Microsoft Entra Connect Provide onsite support at client locations when needed Document your work clearly and explain issues and fixes to non-technical clients Required experience 5+ years of hands-on systems and network administration

Active Directory:

users, computers, OUs, and creating, troubleshooting and removing Group Policy Objects DNS, including how internal AD DNS and public DNS work together DHCP scopes, options and reservations

Switching:

VLANs, 802.1Q tagging, trunking and link aggregation (LAG/LACP) Routing and firewall fundamentals (NAT, VPN, firewall rules) Windows Server 2016 and newer; Windows 10/11 Hyper-V virtualization File services: NTFS permissions, SMB shares and DFS Microsoft 365 administration and Microsoft Entra Connect / hybrid identity Reliable transportation for onsite visits Nice to have MSP or IT service company experience WatchGuard firewalls Ubiquiti UniFi switching, routing and wireless Wireless design and troubleshooting VMware or Citrix virtualization Azure virtual machines and networking SAN/NAS storage Exchange Online mail flow, SMTP relay and third-party filtering (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) Basic Microsoft SQL Server administration Cellular/mobile broadband failover PowerShell scripting What makes you a fit You communicate clearly, both in writing and with clients face to face You handle frequent change and shifting priorities without losing your cool You troubleshoot methodically: gather facts, isolate the problem, fix it and document it Compensation & benefits $40,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience Health / dental / vision, PTO, paid certifications, mileage reimbursement, etc.
