Job Description

Audubon is currently seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join our team in our Canonsburg, PA Office. The Senior Automation Engineer at Audubon shall have shown the ability to specify, design, program, and test automation and control systems for various industrial facilities. Ideally, they shall have served customers in the Oil & Natural Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Food and Beverage, Steel, Water/Waste Water, Power Generation, and/or Specialty spaces. They must be able to initiate customers, grow relationships through first person interactions, lead teams to execute projects, and routinely exceed expectations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the specification, programming, integration, and implementation of various control systems including
DCS/PLC/HMI/SCADA
platforms and applications. Lead I/O and loop checks, as well as all commissioning and startup activities, including progress reports, meetings, and punch-lists. Lead projects from conception through commissioning and startup. Lead a team of engineers to execute scope within budget and maintain go-live commitments. Visit job-sites to evaluate projects and define scope in order to develop proposals from walk-downs. Develop and support proposal development according to scope definition. Assist with change order scope, control, and development. Review vendor drawings for compliance with project specifications. Read, understand, and translate P&ID's and electrical drawings into a
DCS/PLC/HMI
application. Interact and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, engineers, and management. Interact with other engineering departments to develop and review drawings, specifications, and scope. Understands the importance and adherence to project budgets and managing the budget within a given timeframe. Familiarity to specify, design, program, and test Automation Systems, not limited to, but including:
PLC:
SIEMENS, ALLEN-BRADLEY, EMERSON ROC, MODICON, TRICONEX, GE, DCS
CENTUM VP, PCS7, DeltaV, ABB 800,
HONEYWELL, PlantPAx, HMI:
WinCC, Cimplicity, Wonderware/Archestra, Ignition, Beijer, FactoryTal.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in engineering is required, preferably from an ABET accredited institution. Minimum 10+ years in a technical leadership role on Automation and Controls projects, including Commissioning and Startup PE or Master's degree in related Engineering field a plus Automation System training/certification a plus Ability to execute and lead multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to generate and maintain a schedule for projects. Experience configuring control systems for various industries and facilities. Understands many other aspects of Industrial Automation, including roles of BPCS and SIS, Instrumentation, Communication protocols, and Networking and Cybersecurity Ability to independently find a solution for or to deal proactively with work related problems. Ability to comprehend instructions and request clarification as necessary. Ability to lead in a team-oriented environment. Excellent grammar, punctuation, and etiquette desired Willingness to learn new platforms and new technologies. Must be very organized, detail oriented, with the ability to identify outliers quickly. Demonstrated field troubleshooting ability, both electrically (panel) and logically (PLC/DCS) Ability to follow and perform work in accordance with company and customer HSE policy.
