Description:
Position Summary The NSX Administrator is responsible for the design, deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of VMware NSX environments. This role ensures the stability, security, and performance of virtualized network infrastructure while collaborating closely with security, systems, and network teams. The NSX Administrator also provides advanced troubleshooting, develops automation to streamline operations, and supports overall data center modernization initiatives. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and administer VMware NSX-T environments, including logical routing, switching, load balancing, and distributed firewall policies. Manage micro segmentation strategies and enforce network security posture across virtualized workloads. Perform regular maintenance, updates, and lifecycle management of NSX components and related VMware platforms. Monitor NSX infrastructure health, performance, capacity, and logs using native tools and third-party monitoring systems. Troubleshoot complex issues involving network overlays, transport nodes, edge appliances, and integrations with physical networks. Collaborate with network, server, and security teams to support architecture designs, platform upgrades, and new deployments. Develop and maintain documentation including topology diagrams, standard operating procedures, and configuration records. Implement automation and scripting to improve efficiency, consistency, and disaster recovery readiness. Support incident response activities related to network virtualization and ensure timely resolution. Participate in on-call rotation and provide escalation support for critical infrastructure issues.   • Strong experience administering VMware NSX-T in enterprise environments Required
  • Strong experience administering VMware NSX-T in enterprise environments.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts including VLANs, BGP, OSPF, VX Required
  • Hands-on experience with vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related VMware ecosystem technologies. Required
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex networking and virtualization issues across multiple layers. Required
  • Familiarity with network security best practices and micro segmentation design. Required
  • Experience with automation/scripting using PowerShell/PowerCLI, Python, or REST APIs. Required
  • VMware certifications such as VCP-NV, VCAP-NV, or equivalent hands on expertise Highly desired
  • Knowledge of cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure). Highly desired
  • Experience with monitoring tools (vRealize Network Insight, Aria Operations, SolarWinds, Splunk, etc.
