NETWORK ENGINEER
Position Overview Transform technology into opportunity as a Network Engineer with GDIT. A career in enterprise IT means connecting, securing, and elevating the systems that matter most. In this role, you will support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Information Operations Enterprise Enclave (IOEE) and Information Operations Secure Enterprise Enclave (IOSEE) Engineering Support Services program in Springfield, VA. This is a hybrid position with onsite requirements once per week at minimum, plus onsite support at the DLA facility for SIPR-related tasks. How You Will Make an Impact Planning, executing, and documenting comprehensive laboratory assessments of hardware, software, and configuration changes that could affect the DLA network or interconnectivity across cloud, core, and remote sites. This includes conducting evaluations of emerging security solutions and traffic‑management technologies. Coordinating with government customers to develop Technology Assessment Plans, Change Implementation Plans (CIP), Enterprise Change Requests (ECR) including objectives, technical approach, procedures, schedules, roles and responsibilities. Preparing detailed After Action Reports documenting approach, results, and recommendations. Identifying emerging network capabilities and developing evaluation and selection criteria. Developing system evaluation methods, testing approaches, and technical documentation while leveraging DLA's network monitoring systems. Producing formal engineering documentation for executive-level briefings. Ensuring interoperability between DLA WAN and DISN network systems. Planning and tracking implementation tasks, creating network maps, detailed designs, test plans, ORT reports, device configurations, and procedures. Defining network requirements, analyzing telecommunications needs, and collaborating with IT professionals to implement network services. Developing alternative solutions and backup plans with functional users. Providing constructive feedback and identifying configuration and/or routing improvements to lead and senior engineers for consideration and implementation. What You'll Need to Succeed Active Secret clearance with SSBI (Tier 5) or Top-Secret clearance. Minimum of three (3) years of relevant network engineering experience.Required Certifications:
CCNA and IAT Level II compliant certification (Security+, CySA+, SSCP, GSEC, CCNA Security, CND, or GICSP).Preferred Certifications:
CCNP Enterprise, Check Point CCSA. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree. Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols, including but not limited toOSPF, BGP, MPLS, LDP, STIG
compliance, routing/switching, and multi-vendor network devices. Experience with wired, wireless, voice, and video technologies. Ability to manage multiple projects, provide updates, and meet onsite requirements.Hybrid schedule:

The likely salary range for this position is $81,349 - $103,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
