Job Summary

Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking an Network Engineer to support a government contract based on the island of Diego Garcia.

PURPOSE / SCOPE

The Network Engineer is responsible for network capacity planning, security principles, network management to align best practices while providing maintaining network infrastructure and security to ensure successful performance and compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS), Program, USG, and international requirements and guidelines. Responsibilities include also designing, installing, and troubleshooting Cisco-based WAN/LAN, supporting capacity planning and network security practices to ensures compliance with standard management practices including but not limited to monitoring, records keeping, report preparation, training, inspections, data reporting, etc. Will perform other duties as assigned.

The Network Engineer will be available for on-call support as needed 24 hours/day, 7 days/week in this role.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in computer science/engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent combination of experience, education and training

Two years engineering experience designing, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting a large, mission critical Cisco-based WAN/LAN

IAT-2 (Security+ or equivalent GSEC or SCNP or SSCP); DoD 8570/8140 compliance

Must meet requirements outlined in the

DOD 8570.1M

directive matrix IAT-1

Knowledge in network capacity planning, network security principles and general network management best practices

Ability to implement best practice standards, lead projects and maintain network infrastructure and security

Must be familiar with current global, US, Program and PWS requirements

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and drivers license throughout employment in this role

Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring

Ability to successfully pass the medical contract requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.

Note:

US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance

Ability to obtain country-specific visas as required by the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies

Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds

Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable

May work in a typical office environment

This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in offices, industrial warehouses, ports, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
