Remote IP Network Engineer II
Job Description
Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Remote IP Network Engineer II to support a carrier-class IP/MPLS network environment. Candidates should have experience with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS; carrier Ethernet technologies; and network platforms such as Nokia, Juniper, Cisco, or Brocade. This role supports network design, implementation, troubleshooting, capacity planning, and operational support of our client's core IP and transport infrastructure. This engineer will work in close partnership with a Senior Network Engineer on strategic network initiatives, including core routing, IP/MPLS, carrier Ethernet, and transport projects. The position offers significant opportunities for technical growth through direct mentorship, participation in complex engineering projects, and exposure to large-scale service provider network operations. This position is remote and must work Alaskan hours 8-5pm. https://insightglobal.com/workforce-privacy-policy/. Skills and Requirements- 5+ years of experience with the configuration of Cisco, Nokia, and Juniper routers or switches in a core network environment
- Experience in service provider, telecommunications, or data center environments, with an understanding of large-scale network operations.
- Experience with protocol & standards: BGP, ISIS, and OSPF
- Familiar with layer 2 ethernet technologies:
VLAN, STP, LACP, MC-LAG
- Experience creating and editing network drawings using Microsoft Visio application Experience writing MOPs and MPLS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Technologies, Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, or related field
- Experience with Metasolv
- Experience with Brocade
- Experience with common transport technologies such as Ethernet, SONET, TDM, Fiber, Microwave, Satellite, WiFi, cellular, etc Certifications in:
- Cisco
CCNA / CCNP
- Nokia
NRS I / NRS II
- Brocade
BCNE / BCNP
- Juniper JNCIA / JNCIS
