Job Description

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Internal Cloud PaaS (TAS) Engineer for a hybrid position (3 days onsite per week required) with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX or Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role is responsible for the design, build, and ongoing engineering of an Internal Cloud Platform as a Service (PaaS) capability based on VMware Tanzu Application Server (TAS). The engineer will ensure the platform meets enterprise requirements for availability, scalability, and security, while enabling application teams to deploy and operate applications without managing the underlying infrastructure. This position owns the TAS platform architecture, configuration standards, and engineering patterns for the ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

Design, build, and provide ongoing engineering for the Platform as a Service (PaaS) capability based on VMware Tanzu Application Server (TAS)

Ensure the TAS platform meets enterprise requirements for availability, scalability, security, and developer experience

Own the TAS platform architecture, configuration standards, and engineering patterns

Engineer and evolve TAS foundations and define platform integration patterns across the VMware stack

Enable secure and scalable application runtimes and support application onboarding and modernization

Collaborate with platform automation, SRE, and operations teams to continuously improve platform reliability and lifecycle management

Requirements:

• 4-5 years of experience engineering or operating Platform as a Service (PaaS) environments
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux, application runtimes, and platform architecture
• Familiarity with VMware, virtualization concepts, and internal cloud platforms
• Experience supporting developer onboarding, CI/CD integration, and application runtime platforms

Desired skills:

Direct experience with VMware Tanzu Application Server (TAS) or Cloud Foundry

5-7+ years of experience supporting enterprise PaaS or internal developer platforms

PaaS, cloud platform, or DevOps certification

Experience modernizing applications to PaaS models in regulated enterprises

Pay range: $60.24 - $68.24 per hour
