Approximately once every four to six weeks ExxonMobil has been a leader in the energy sector for over 140 years. As ExxonMobil adapts to meet the increasing global demand for oil, natural gas, and refined products, it is committed to playing a pivotal role in energy transition. ExxonMobil's mission, to fuel the world safely and responsibly, has never been more important. Together, Raise and ExxonMobil are building teams that are rising to meet the world's growing energy needs through the ExxonMobil Contingent Community—where skilled workers and unique contract opportunities meet. Raise is taking applications for current openings like this one while building a diverse group of talent for future openings. When you apply for this role, you'll also be considered for upcoming positions that align with your skills and qualifications.
Note:
Successful applicants will be employees of Raise Limited, working at ExxonMobil facilities with both ExxonMobil employees and other contractors. Overview Refineries and chemical plants run around the clock, and so does the network behind them. You keep that network fast, stable, and secure for manufacturing sites in Baytown, Baton Rouge, and Beaumont. About half your time goes to operations and troubleshooting. The rest goes to project work, starting with fiber projects you help design and configure. Success means fewer repeat issues, cleaner changes, and a team that grows from three engineers to six with you as a go-to expert. Responsibilities Run and troubleshoot the local area network and wide area network (LAN/WAN) that supports refinery and chemical operations. Find root causes during incidents and fix recurring issues for good. Lead routing work as a go-to expert, especially Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). Manage Cisco switching and wireless, including device tracking and authentication. Support software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) on Versa. Design and configure network changes for fiber and other infrastructure projects. Use monitoring tools to spot problems before users do. Automate repeat tasks with Python, Ansible, or similar tools. Keep runbooks, procedures, and network documentation current. Partner with plant network, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and site support teams. Required Qualifications 10+ years in enterprise network engineering and operations. Expert routing knowledge, especially BGP. Deep hands-on switching and wireless experience. SD-WAN experience. Versa is ideal, and similar platforms count. A real grasp of how the technology works, not just how to configure it. Clear, proactive communication with technical and business teams. Ability to work onsite in Spring, travel to sites, and join the on-call rotation. Preferred Python automation, with a recent solution you built and delivered. Datadog or similar monitoring tools. ServiceNow. Cisco Catalyst Center, NetBrain, or Versa Director. Experience running and troubleshooting enterprise firewalls. Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE). Oil and gas, chemical, or other industrial experience. Looking for meaningful work? We can help Raise is an established hiring firm with over 65 years of experience.
