Job Description
Job Summary The Principal Automation Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain automation frameworks and solutions to enhance the robustness, stability, and reliability of business process automation systems. This role requires strong software development expertise, experience with Java-based automation frameworks, and the ability to collaborate in an Agile environment to support full lifecycle software quality initiatives. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks and tools to support end-to-end testing. Define and execute test strategies, scenarios, and steps for automated and functional testing. Collaborate with development teams to establish valid test approaches and scenarios. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and support sprint deliverables across development, QA, and analysis tasks. Execute manual and automated test scripts for complex or multi-module projects. Lead test script reviews and mentor team members on test tools, automation practices, and best-in-class testing techniques. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines through automation and quality integrations. Support continuous process improvement and adoption of new testing technologies. Manage QA activities throughout the Agile lifecycle, ensuring quality gates are met. Provide clear communication, documentation, and coordination across distributed teams. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. 10+ years of experience implementing Java-based automation frameworks. Experience with continuous integration and automated deployment tools. Hands-on experience working within Agile development environments. Strong proficiency with SQL and experience with Oracle databases. Ability to work effectively in distributed teams and mentor junior team members. Strong attention to detail, ability to learn large systems quickly, and strong analytical and organizational skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the brokerage or financial services industry. Experience with tools and technologies such as RESTful APIs, Selenium, Cucumber, Jagacy, Karate, Java/J2EE, Groovy, JUnit, JavaScript. Familiarity with Jira, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
