HUD IOO O&M
program. The candidate will provide network management and IPv6 architecture design support for the Department of HUD. The candidate will function as the lead for the implementation and augmentation of IPv6 into the existing environment. Responsibilities Provide network management and IPv6 architecture design support for the Department of HUD. Function as the lead for the implementation and augmentation of IPv6 into the existing environment. Operate independently as a senior technical advisor, leading architecture discussions, challenging designs when appropriate, identifying risks/dependencies, and developing remediation strategies. Lead complex troubleshooting, coordinate across teams, mentor personnel, and brief senior stakeholders. Design, implement, and troubleshoot enterprise-scale IP networks. Support network modernization, migration, or transformation in large, complex environments, including data center, cloud, LAN/WAN, remote-access, or Internet environments. Architect and implement zero trust solutions. Produce HLDs/LLDs, network diagrams, implementation plans, technical standards, assessments, gap analyses, root-cause analyses, and technical risk assessments. Required Qualifications U.S. Citizenship Required. Public Trust security clearance required (clearance required prior to start). 10 years of professional experience in network engineering, network architecture, or related telecommunications/infrastructure disciplines. At least 5 years of demonstrated IPv6 experience covering architecture, addressing, routing, implementation, migration, dual-stack environments, and troubleshooting. Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise-scale IP networks. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with Agency Leaders. Experience with enterprise routing/switching and protocols/services such as BGP, OSPF/OSPFv3, EIGRP, IS-IS, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP/DHCPv6, ICMP/ICMPv6, TCP/IP, and SNMP, as applicable. Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, access control, segmentation, and security monitoring. Experience with Cisco, F5, and CrowdStrike. Experience with HLDs/LLDs, network diagrams, implementation plans, technical standards, assessments, gap analyses, root-cause analyses, and technical risk assessments. Experience supporting network modernization, migration, or transformation in large, complex environments, including data center, cloud, LAN/WAN, remote-access, or Internet environments. Strong technical communication, documentation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills. Experience architecting and implementing zero trust solutions. Preferred Qualifications Federal Government network engineering, IPv6 mandates/standards, or enterprise IPv6 readiness initiatives. Enterprise IPv6 adoption/migration roadmaps and IPv6-only environments. AWS, Microsoft Azure, or equivalent cloud networking; data center networking and virtualization. Integration of IPv6 with firewalls, load balancers, DNS/DHCP, identity/access-control, security, monitoring, and management platforms. Network disaster recovery, resiliency, continuity, automation, modernization, or technology refresh. Relevant certifications such as CCIE/CCNP, JNCIP/JNCIE, recognized IPv6 credentials, Azure Network Engineer, AWS Advanced Networking, CISSP, Security+, or equivalent. Technical Skills IPv6 architecture, addressing, routing, implementation, migration, dual-stack environments, and troubleshooting. Enterprise routing, switching, and protocols/services: BGP, OSPF/OSPFv3, EIGRP, IS-IS, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP/DHCPv6, ICMP/ICMPv6, TCP/IP, and SNMP. Cisco, F5, and CrowdStrike. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline is preferred (equivalent education, training, certifications, and professional experience may be considered subject to Government/Contractor approval).
Certifications Relevant certifications preferred:
CCIE/CCNP, JNCIP/JNCIE, recognized IPv6 credentials, Azure Network Engineer, AWS Advanced Networking, CISSP, Security+, or equivalent.
Clearance / Work
Authorization U.S. Citizenship Required. Public Trust security clearance required (required prior to start).
Additional background check required:
HUD prescreen and credit check must be completed and come back green to move forward with Public Trust and placement (personal disclosure section can be completed prior to submittal).
