ORA_ON_SITE Description SAIC is seeking a Wireless Network Engineer to design, integrate, and support enterprise wireless LAN/WAN over OSP/FTTx networks, engineer and implement GPON solutions (ONT, OLT, WDM) for Marine Corps installations. The candidate will sit at our customer site in Stafford, VA.Job Duties:
Plan, design, implement, and optimize wireless LAN and related technologies integrated with GPON. Develop engineering drawings, test plans/procedures, and cutover/migration documentation. Provide operational support for large-scale, high-availability wireless deployments; troubleshoot LAN/WAN/wireless issues. Conduct feasibility analyses; execute tests, log defects, verify fixes, and contribute to test strategies. Perform site audits; ensure network compatibility and recommend remediation. Create functional designs, deployment procedures, and operational processes; lead technical efforts and mentor staff.Qualifications Required Education and Work Experience:
Bachelors degree and five (5) years of work experience. SME-level experience with Wireless LAN; strong knowledge of up to Wi-Fi 7 and Layer 2/Layer 3. Experience with Cisco-based wireless site surveys, network design, and implementation. Experience with Wi Fi, WAN/LAN; RF design/optimization and range/propagation testing. SIP, IMS, and VoLTE standards.Required Security Clearance:
No clearance required to start, must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.Desired Qualifications:
Certifications:
Security+, CWNP, CWDP, CWNA, Network+, CySA+, CASP, CCNA. Experience with GPON/FTTx design for major providers; network architecture/engineering focused on GPON. Knowledge of ITU T G.984.x, TelcordiaGR 1275, IEEE
802.2/802.3, and NIST standards. Hands-on configuring/installing Cisco switches, routers, and wireless; HP Aruba and Cisco Catalyst experience highly desired.Target salary range:
