Job Description

Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, implement, and optimize building automation solutions across our commercial real estate portfolio. In this role, you will configure and integrate BAS/BMS, PLCs, and IoT devices to improve energy efficiency, comfort, and asset performance. You will collaborate with facility managers, project teams, and vendors to scope automation projects, troubleshoot system issues, and standardize controls architectures. You will analyze performance data, develop dashboards, and recommend automation strategies that support sustainability, reliability, and client-focused outcomes. Responsibilities Design and configure building automation and control systems across commercial properties Integrate BAS/BMS, PLCs, Io T sensors, and related platforms to enhance building performance Analyze building and energy data to identify optimization opportunities and implement control strategies Collaborate with facility managers, project managers, and vendors on automation project scoping and delivery Troubleshoot automation system issues and perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions Develop and maintain standard controls architectures, sequences of operations, and documentation Create dashboards and reports to communicate building performance to clients and internal stakeholders Support commissioning, testing, and validation of automation solutions for new and existing assets Required Skills Building Automation Systems (BAS) Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) Industrial control systems (ICS) Io T device integration HVAC controls and optimization Energy management and monitoring SCADA or BMS platforms (e.g., Niagara, Tridium) Scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Java Script) SQL and data analytics tools Network protocols (BACnet, Modbus, Lon Works)
