Primary Responsibilities:
The Network/Systems Engineer provides advanced technical expertise supporting the Service Desk and APR organizations. The engineer performs root-cause analysis, systems troubleshooting, infrastructure diagnostics, trend analysis, and supports resolution of complex enterprise technology issues impacting USPTO operations. Additionally, in this position you will: Perform advanced troubleshooting of network, server, endpoint, and infrastructure issues. Support escalated incidents affecting enterprise operations. Conduct root-cause and trend analysis on recurring technical issues. Analyze performance, stability, and availability metrics. Support major incident response and service restoration activities. Assist with knowledge article development and technical documentation. Collaborate with engineering and product teams. Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvement. Support continuity of operations (COOP) and disaster recovery efforts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Five (5) years of network or systems engineering experience. Experience supporting enterprise Microsoft environments. Knowledge of networking, Active Directory, cloud technologies, and endpoint management. Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products. Strong communication and customer service skills.
Desired Skills:
Microsoft Certified Professional. Azure Administrator. CompTIA Network+ or Security+. ITIL Foundation.
