This position starts at $48.35 per hour. Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
Job Summary:
The PACS/System Administrator manages and supports diagnostic imaging systems, including
PACS, RIS
integrations, PowerScribe, MagView, 3D applications, and related technologies. This position is responsible for system administration, DICOM/HL7 interface support, troubleshooting, workflow optimization, user support, training, vendor coordination, and project implementation to ensure reliable and efficient imaging operations. Working closely with clinical, operational, and IT teams, the PACS/System Administrator maintains system performance, data integrity, security, interoperability, and business continuity across the organization while serving as the primary technical resource for imaging systems.
Minimum Qualifications for the position:
Education:
Bachelor's degree with major coursework in computer science, information systems, imaging informatics, radiologic technology, business administration or a closely related field.
Education Substitution:
Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for-year basis.
Experience:
Two (2) years of professional experience in system administration and/or systems analysis supporting healthcare imaging systems (PACS, RIS, and related applications)
Preferred Experience:
Experience with
DICOM, HL7/IHE
interfaces, and PACS administration in a healthcare setting; vendor experience (e.g., PACS, Syngovia, PowerScribe, MagView). Clinical imaging background (e.g., ARRT) preferred. License(s)
Required:
Current State of Alaska Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License Certification(s)
Required:
One or more of: CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CompTIA Security+, MCSE, or equivalent. Vendor PACS administration training (e.g., Fuji Synapse) required or obtained within twelve (12) months. CIIP and/or PARCA (CPAS, CPSA, or CDIP) strongly preferred.
