Full Job Description Summary:
The IT Administrator serves as the primary administrator and escalation point for the organization's information technology environment. This role is responsible for administering user access, systems, infrastructure, and IT assets while providing Tier 1-2 support to end users. The IT Administrator ensures stable, secure, and compliant operation of business systems across office and manufacturing environments, including ERP, productivity platforms, network access, endpoint security, and IT asset management.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Administer user accounts, permissions, and security groups across business systems, including but not limited to: Microsoft 365, VPN and remote access platforms, antivirus and endpoint protection systems, ERP and business applications (e.g., Sage 100, Sage Fixed Assets). Provision, modify, and decommission user access in accordance with internal access control and security standards. Support identity lifecycle management (onboarding, role changes, terminations). Serve as the primary point of contact for IT support via phone, email, and helpdesk ticketing system. Resolve 100% of Tier 1 issues within SLA and escalate Tier 2 issues as appropriate. Perform remote and on-site troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and structured problem-solving techniques. Document resolutions clearly in the ticketing system and communicate outcomes to users and IT leadership. Author and maintain knowledgebase (KB) documentation to standardize solutions and reduce repeat incidents. Procure, configure, deploy, and maintain workstations and mobile devices, printers and copiers, manufacturing and warehouse-connected equipment. Manage wired, wireless, and VPN network access for office and plant users. Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and lifecycle documentation using asset management tools (e.g., Lansweeper). Coordinate with vendors and service providers as needed. Support endpoint security, antivirus monitoring, and email filtering platforms. Enforce IT policies related to acceptable use, data protection, and access controls. Follow and promote safe work practices and PPE requirements in manufacturing environments. Assist with audits, investigations, and documentation requests as directed by IT leadership. Partner with IT Manager and cross-functional leaders on system improvements, upgrades, and standardization initiatives. Identify recurring issues and recommend process or technology enhancements. Support implementation of new applications and technologies as the business evolves. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field preferred Minimum two (2) years of progressively responsible IT support or systems administration experience CompTIA A+ Certification preferred but not required Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. Walking and climbing stairs. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment. Plant equipment noise is elevated requiring the use of hearing protection and seasonal temperatures can be expected.
