Whittier College is an independent, four-year Liberal Arts College distinguished by its small size (1600 undergraduates) and a nationally recognized liberal arts program. The College is ideally situated in the scenic hills eighteen miles east of downtown Los Angeles. Student Systems Specialist The Registrar Office at Whittier College is seeking a Student Systems Specialist. Under the direction of the Assistant Registrar of Systems and College Registrar, the Student Systems Specialist provides technical and operational support for student information systems, academic records processes, reporting, and scheduling functions. The position is responsible for maintaining student and course data within Banner and related systems, supporting DegreeWorks maintenance and testing, generating standard reports, assisting with schedule production, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of institutional data. The Student Systems Specialist serves as a resource to faculty, staff, and students regarding Registrar systems and supports the efficient operation of academic and administrative processes.

Non-Exempt Full Time/Part Time status: Part time (25 hours per week)
Salary Range:
$23.00 per hour; Salary will commensurate with experience, skills, and knowledge.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions of the job: Student Information Systems Support âEUR¢ Maintain student, course, and curriculum data within Banner and related systems. âEUR¢ Assist with DegreeWorks maintenance, testing, and audit validation. âEUR¢ Support registration setup, term processing, and system maintenance activities. âEUR¢ Troubleshoot routine system issues and escalate complex matters as appropriate. âEUR¢ Maintain system documentation and procedural guides. Data Management & Reporting âEUR¢ Generate and distribute standard reports using Banner and Argos. âEUR¢ Verify data accuracy and assist with data validation efforts. âEUR¢ Support data audits and reporting initiatives. âEUR¢ Maintain confidentiality and integrity of student information. Scheduling & Academic Operations âEUR¢ Assist with course schedule production and classroom assignments. âEUR¢ Maintain course and section information within Banner. âEUR¢ Support EMS scheduling and academic event coordination. âEUR¢ Assist with commencement and graduation operations. Customer Service & Office Support âEUR¢ Provide support to faculty, staff, and students regarding Registrar systems and processes. âEUR¢ Assist with training student workers on office systems and procedures. âEUR¢ Support office projects and operational initiatives. âEUR¢ Perform other duties as assigned. Position Specifications and Requirements:
Knowledge and Education:
âEUR¢ Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred. âEUR¢ Working knowledge of Banner or similar student information systems preferred. âEUR¢ Familiarity with DegreeWorks, Argos, EMS, or related systems preferred. âEUR¢ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. âEUR¢ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. âEUR¢ Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA requirements. âEUR¢ Bilingual preferred.
Machines, Tools, Equipment, Electronic Devices and Software:
âEUR¢ Ellucian Banner Student Information System. âEUR¢ DegreeWorks (basic user functionality). âEUR¢ Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). âEUR¢ Formstack electronic forms and workflow software. âEUR¢ National Student Clearinghouse services. âEUR¢ EMS Event Management System (preferred). âEUR¢ Standard office equipment and software used to support Registrar operations.
