Consultant Location:
Washington, DC / Remote /

US Citizen About the Role STSI is looking for an experienced AWS Consultant to support cloud operations, infrastructure management, security, compliance, and optimization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on AWS experience, strong knowledge of federal compliance requirements, and the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Manage AWS accounts, billing, cost optimization, usage monitoring, IAM policies, and MFA. Maintain and support AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudFront, and Route 53. Lead cloud architecture, roadmap planning, scalability, resiliency, and disaster recovery efforts. Perform system health checks, patching, monitoring, incident response, and remediation. Support security and compliance activities related to NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, ATO, audits, and risk management. Prepare documentation, reports, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and optimization recommendations. Coordinate with leadership, IT teams, vendors, and project stakeholders. Required Qualifications Proven experience supporting federal, public sector, or compliance-driven AWS environments. Hands-on experience with NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP compliance. Strong knowledge of identity management, MFA, IAM, and zero-trust principles. Experience with AWS infrastructure, cloud operations, security, cost management, and incident response. Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills. Required Certifications AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Professional AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
  • Professional AWS Certified Security
  • Specialty Preferred Certifications AWS Certified Advanced Networking
  • Specialty CISSP or equivalent CISM or equivalent Work Arrangement Work may be performed on-site in Washington, DC, remotely, or in a hybrid arrangement, based on project and security requirements.
