Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security. This role involves working with advanced networking technologies, leading troubleshooting efforts, supporting disaster recovery initiatives, and acting as an escalation point for complex issues. The ideal candidate will operate independently, manage vendor relationships, and contribute to continuous improvement of network operations and documentation.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, test, implement, monitor, and review network changes with minimal supervision
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve complex, escalated network issues
- Serve as an escalation point for junior network administrators
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
- Ensure system availability and support 24x7 operations with on-call rotation
- Monitor network performance using various tools and optimize as needed
- Maintain accurate network documentation and system inventory
- Manage vendor relationships and contribute to RFP development
- Support disaster recovery planning and execution
- Develop and maintain process and procedural documentation
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of experience OR 8+ years of equivalent experience
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, Meraki, and ASA
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, SIP, RTP, EIGRP, OSPF, STP, bridging)
- Experience with VPN gateways and network security concepts
- Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, NetScout, Wireshark)
- Experience with fiber testing tools (OTDR, power meters)
- Experience with change management systems (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with SONET, fiber optic systems, DACS, multiplexers, and T-1 circuits
- Experience with IDS/IPS systems
- Knowledge of DHCP and DNS administration
- Experience with network performance tools (e.g., Extrahop, Forescout)
- Familiarity with remote access tools (e.

- CCNP certification (required within 6 months of employment)
- Valid driver's license required
