In this role, you will lead the end-to-end lifecycle of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, from automated provisioning and configuration management to routine patching, DoD STIG compliance, and exercise support.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Install, configure, optimize, and administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across enterprise, simulation, and exercise networks (including NDM and PTEN-S). Maintain and develop Ansible playbooks for baseline configuration management, STIG enforcement, and routine maintenance tasks. Provide systems and OS-level technical support to Modeling & Simulation (M&S) and C4I systems during live, virtual, and constructive exercise events. Monitor system health, performance, storage allocations, and availability of Linux infrastructure; implement proactive remediation. Author and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), system build documentation, and technical troubleshooting guides. Collaborate with cross-functional infrastructure and Windows systems engineers to support core services, shared storage, and directory integration. Proven experience executing Linux patching, package management, and lifecycle version upgrades utilizing Red Hat Satellite Server or local repository mirrors. Strong background in DoD security compliance, including applying and auditing DISA STIGs, and remediating ACAS vulnerability findings. Practical experience writing and running Ansible playbooks for automated configuration management and security hardening. Solid understanding of core networking and infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, SSH, LDAP/Kerberos, NFS).
