Job Description

This is a contract position for an Embedded Linux Software Engineer, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, available for 12+ months. You will work within established engineering development and quality processes to design, develop, test, and support embedded Linux software systems across multiple hardware platforms. Responsibilities Adhere to all applicable engineering development and quality processes, procedures, instructions, and guidelines Participate in Agile team meetings and planning activities as required Contribute to the design, coding, testing, delivery, and ongoing support for embedded Linux software systems, including build toolchain, kernel, root filesystem, bootloader, device drivers, and BSP for a variety of hardware boards Participate in root cause analysis and resolution of complex hardware-software issues Manage change requests and task assignments through Jira Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 5 years of prior relevant experience, OR an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience, OR 9 years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree A minimum of 3 years of professional experience with embedded Linux device drivers Proficiency with embedded C/C++ Experience with scripting languages (Bash and Python) Experience with board bring-up and target hardware integration Experience with debugging and root cause investigations using hardware schematics and tools such as logic analyzer and Wireshark Preferred Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work in a collaborative environment Experience with GIT and SVN version control systems Experience packaging custom Linux distributions with Buildroot Development experience with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps
