out of 5 stars Iowa City, IA Full-time The University of Iowa 1,303 reviews Full-time The Department of Pathology is seeking a Support Service Coordinator to lead the planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of transport and courier operations supporting University of Iowa Diagnostic Laboratories (UIDL) outreach services and UI Health Care (UIHC) clinical, community connect, pharmacy, and research operations. This role ensures the safe, compliant, and timely movement of biological specimens, compounded medications, and laboratory supplies across a network of internal and external sites. The Support Services Coordinator oversees a complex clinical logistics function that directly impacts patient care, diagnostic turnaround times (TAT), medication integrity, and research/clinical trial execution. Responsibilities include establishing and enforcing standards for packaging, labeling, and handling sensitive and potentially hazardous materials to protect patients, staff, and courier personnel. Serves as the primary liaison between laboratory services, pharmacy, research teams, clinical operations, and courier vendors, with accountability for operational performance, service continuity, and stakeholder communication. This position is 100% time, 1st shift, Monday- Friday, 0800-1630.

Bachelor's degree in health care administration, business, life sciences, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 2+ years of experience in health care operations, logistics, laboratory, or pharmacy. Experience managing vendors and complex operational workflows. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license and ability to meet university of Iowa Fleet Safety Program standards. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Desirable Qualifications:
