Job Summary:
Provide all aspects of system and network support including: install and maintain hardware and software, troubleshoot network problems, provide end user support, perform system backups and data recovery, monitor and tune system software, peripherals, and networks, resolve LAN/WAN communications problems, and provide Help Desk Support, and technical support and guidance to users. Recommends new applications and equipment, patches, and upgrades. Develops and maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations. Sets up, configures, and supports internal and/or external networks, systems, and services. Troubleshoots network and system performance issues and respond to escalated system alerts and failures.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Four year degree in Computer Science or related field and 5 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience Five years of experience with operating systems and PC, LAN, and WAN environments including Windows, Linux, Citrix, and VMWare Two years of experience supporting central storage systems, such as NAS or SAN, and experience building and supporting central firewalls Significant experience interfacing with end users Knowledge Skills and Abilities Thorough understanding of system administrator tasks for above noted environments. Able to understand network concepts and configure servers Ability to evaluate new applications. Understand systems processes in a service environment, e.g., finance, inventory, purchasing, and receiving The ability to plan and coordinate different projects simultaneously and work with minimal supervision is required Must be organized, self-motivated, and self-disciplined Must have strong interpersonal skills
Essential Functions:
Provide level 2 help desk support to provide resolution to end-users problems and complaints Install and maintain PCs, printers, servers, switches and other network equipment Install, support, and maintain VMWare environment across multiple sites Support for central systems, including Active Directory, SAN technologies, VoIP systems, servers, wireless technologies, and SFTP Perform system back-ups and data recovery Create and maintain departmental documentation, network diagrams, system interdependencies, and end-user documentation Consult with users to define their systems requirements. Determine best hardware, software and network (local and wide area) configurations to meet their needs Document network configuration and update as needed Ensure software licensing compliance of all network and PC based software applications Build, tune and maintain servers, networks and central storage systems in support of assigned business applications Plan, manage, document and perform installations and upgrades on the operating systems, hardware and firmware on the servers, networks and central storage systems Ensure all personnel are cross-trained and experienced in each other's routine duties Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards Pay ranges from $85,000-$95,000.
