Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Crane Service Technician to join our Illinois-based Field Service Team. This hands-on role is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, installing, and commissioning overhead crane systems and related lifting equipment throughout the Peoria area and surrounding region. The ideal candidate is a seasoned technician who can troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, work with minimal supervision, and provide exceptional service and technical expertise to customers. What You'll Do Inspect, diagnose, repair, install, and commission overhead crane systems, hoists, jib cranes, monorails, and related material handling equipment. Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, including motors, brakes, controls, limit switches, and VFDs. Perform OSHA and ASME inspections, document findings, and provide repair recommendations. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation. Communicate directly with customer maintenance personnel and plant management regarding equipment condition and recommended solutions. Become a trusted technical resource helping customers keep their operations running safely and efficiently. Requirements & Qualifications Extensive experience independently servicing overhead crane systems, including inspection, troubleshooting, repair, installation, commissioning, and
OSHA/ASME
inspections. Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Strong customer service and communication skills. Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and time-management skills. Experience safely operating forklifts, aerial lifts, rigging equipment. Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and safe work practices. Valid driver's license with clean driving record. Schedule & Travel Expectations Full-time hourly position. Overtime, early starts, extended shifts, and weekend work as needed. Weekend work paid at overtime rate. Service territory primarily includes the Peoria, Illinois area; occasional travel may be required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Ability to climb, kneel, bend, and work in industrial environments. Comfortable working at heights and around industrial machinery. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
Pay Range:
$38.00-$50.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. S&K Industrial is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
