Job Summary:
The Microsoft Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and optimization of the organization's Microsoft 365 environment. This role supports end users while managing Microsoft cloud services, identity management, collaboration platforms, and productivity tools. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, cloud technologies, automation, and cybersecurity best practices, along with a customer-focused approach to supporting business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary administrator and technical owner of the Microsoft 365 environment, including configuration, licensing, governance, and platform management. Manage Microsoft 365 licensing, utilization, and renewal optimization to identify cost-saving opportunities. Administer Exchange Online, including mail flow, security, shared resources, retention, and related policies. Administer SharePoint Online and OneDrive, including site architecture, permissions, external sharing, storage, and content lifecycle management. Administer Microsoft Teams, including governance, access, meetings, voice, applications, and Teams Phone. Support migrations of file shares and legacy content to SharePoint Online and Teams, including planning, permissions, cutover, and user readiness. Administer Microsoft 365 Copilot, including licensing, data readiness, governance, permissions, and adoption. Configure and maintain Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and Defender for Endpoint in partnership with the broader IT security team. Develop and maintain Power Apps and Power Automate solutions to improve and automate business processes. Partner with business leaders and IT to identify manual processes and recommend Microsoft-based solutions. Provide Tier 2/3 support and troubleshooting for Microsoft 365 applications and services. Develop user documentation, training, and resources to support adoption of Microsoft 365 tools. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required 3-5+ years of Microsoft 365 administration experience Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience) Experience administering: o Microsoft 365 o Office 365 o Microsoft Teams o Active Directory/Entra ID o Power Apps (i.e. Power BI) o SharePoint o OneDrive? o Copilot o
