A Systems Administrator manages the day-to-day operations of an organization's computer networks, including the systems that connect computers and other technology to each other and to outside networks. Installs, organizes, and supports the hardware and software of these systems.
Grant Smith owns and operates two premier companies: Grant Smith Health Insurance Agency and GBS Media, LLC, employing over 20 professionals. We are seeking a computer-savvy, technically skilled individual to help maintain, develop, and implement solutions across our two buildings and web presence.
Key Responsibilities:
IT & Technical Support:
Administer and maintain core IT infrastructure, including our Microsoft 365 tenant (user accounts, device sign-in, security/compliance policies) and UniFi network stack (Network, Protect, Drive) Troubleshoot and maintain office technology, including computers, printers, and phones, ensuring smooth daily operations and HIPPA compliance. Provide training and assistance to office staff with hardware and software updates. Adapt to new challenges and assist with general tech and office tasks.
Website & Digital Marketing:
Maintain and update company websites (WordPress + cPanel) at both site and hosting server levels. Configure or maintain Search Engine Optimization (SEO), advertising strategies, and online marketing (mandatory). Act as user admin, setting up and assisting users with various platforms. Assist with written content such as social media posts or B2B communications. Ensure compliance with commercial use terms by reviewing relevant legal documents (e.g., terms of use, copyright policies). Provide recommendations but defer legal uncertainties to a professional when necessary. Graphic design, UX design, and UI design experience is a plus.
Development & Automation:
Able to troubleshoot and create code to implement various solutions for automation,
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. (Required) Minimum 2 years of experience with Web Development. 3-5 years of experience in SEO, online marketing, and Google Ads. (Preferred) Strong technical troubleshooting skills in IT and office tech support. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong writing and proofreading skills. Understanding of IT security concepts (e.g., VLANs, Firewalls, Access Control, ect.) Ability to learn and adapt to new technical skills with minimal downtime is highly valued Ability to commute/relocate: Office is located in Port Huron, MI 48060 Reliable and consistent transportation is required.
