Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Network Administrator to support and enhance the reliability of enterprise technology operations across multiple office locations. This position is based in Southfield, Michigan, and focuses on maintaining stable network connectivity, server performance, virtualization platforms, and end-user computing resources. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, sound troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage infrastructure needs with a high level of independence and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain dependable performance of network, server, and workstation environments to support business operations across geographically distributed offices.
- Install, configure, and provide ongoing administration for Microsoft Server platforms, including legacy and current Windows Server environments.
- Oversee backup and recovery solutions using enterprise tools such as Veeam and Backup Exec to help protect critical systems and data.
- Manage core infrastructure services including Active Directory, print services, and related administrative systems essential to daily operations.
- Support and optimize network hardware, including switching, routing, and firewall technologies from vendors such as Extreme Networks, Cisco, and Dell SonicWall.
- Administer VMware-based virtual environments for both server and desktop systems, ensuring availability, performance, and efficient resource use.
- Troubleshoot a wide range of technical issues involving hardware, software, user accounts, printers, and connectivity, resolving incidents in a timely manner.
- Develop clear technical procedures and support documentation, and assist with workstation deployments, software rollouts, and technology setup for new or relocated office sites. Requirements
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience in network and systems administration within a multi-site business environment.
- Strong working knowledge of firewall technologies, Cisco routing, and local area network administration.
- Proven experience managing Active Directory and Microsoft Server platforms in production environments.
- Practical expertise with VMware virtualization for infrastructure support and administration.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues across servers, networks, desktops, and peripheral devices.
- Experience supporting backup platforms and maintaining secure, reliable infrastructure operations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute effectively to team-based projects.
