Construction Service Technician

Full-Time Competitive hourly pay of $25.00-$30.00, based on experience and qualifications Position Summary SERVPRO Team Jones is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Service Technician to support our Reconstruction Division by completing punch list items, warranty work, quality control inspections, and final project closeout activities. This position serves as the "last line of quality" before a project is considered complete. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, communicates professionally with customers, and enjoys solving problems while ensuring every project reflects SERVPRO Team Jones' commitment to excellence. Working closely with Reconstruction Project Managers, this individual will help maintain project schedules, improve customer satisfaction, and protect the company's reputation by ensuring completed work meets or exceeds expectations.
Essential Responsibilities:
Punch List & Warranty
  • Complete project punch list items in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform warranty repairs on completed residential and commercial reconstruction projects.
  • Diagnose and resolve workmanship issues while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Respond to warranty service calls with professionalism and excellent customer service. Quality Control
  • Perform quality control (QC) inspections on active and completed projects.
  • Identify deficiencies, incomplete work, or potential warranty concerns before project completion.
  • Communicate findings and recommended corrective actions to Project Managers and the Construction Operations Manager.
  • Ensure all work complies with company quality standards, building codes, and manufacturer specifications. Construction Repairs
  • Repair and finish drywall, including patching, taping, texturing, sanding, and finishing.
  • Perform interior painting and finish touch-ups.
  • Install and repair trim, baseboards, doors, hardware, cabinetry, and other finish carpentry items.
  • Complete minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs within experience and skill level.
  • Perform miscellaneous construction repairs and finish work as needed. Project Closeout
  • Assist Project Managers with final customer walkthroughs.
  • Address customer punch list items during project closeout.
  • Help ensure projects are completed to customer satisfaction before final completion.
  • Assist with final project documentation, photographs, and closeout requirements to ensure complete job files. Communication & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, warranty repairs, QC inspections, and service calls.
  • Take before-and-after photographs when appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with Project Managers, subcontractors, customers, and office staff.
  • Escalate issues that require additional scope, approvals, or specialized trades. Safety & Professionalism
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Operate company vehicles, tools, and equipment responsibly.
  • Follow OSHA, SERVPRO, and company safety policies.
  • Represent SERVPRO Team Jones professionally through appearance, communication, and customer interactions. Qualifications
  • Three (3) or more years of residential and/or commercial construction experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of: Drywall repair and finishing Interior painting Finish carpentry Basic plumbing Basic electrical Basic HVAC systems
  • Ability to identify construction deficiencies and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical work including climbing ladders, kneeling, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods. Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous restoration or insurance reconstruction experience.
  • Experience working in occupied residential homes.
  • OSHA 10 Certification (or willingness to obtain).
